Following in the footsteps of COP15 on and COP26, The Natural History Museum has opened up its doors to invite debate on why and how our relationship with the natural world needs to change. This year-long free display will explore how humans have shaped the planet in an effort to uncover possible solutions to creating a greener future. With specimens chosen from over 80 million objects in the museum’s collection by its scientists, Our Broken Planet promises to intrigue, engage and open up the conversation around sustainability to everyone. Free display, open until late summer 2022.

John James Audubon and his Birds of America

Explore the interweaving worlds of science and art with self-taught wildlife artist, John James Audubon. A notable figure of the nineteenth century, Audubon spent 20 years travelling North American to record the many bird species living there. The Natural History Museum’s latest display celebrates the artist’s work across 435 prints, used to create the book The Birds of America, which is now described as ‘a feat of artistry and technical skill’. Free display, open from 15 January 2022.
